Accessibility Statement
Last reviewed: June 9, 2026
The Saturday Pool Club is committed to ensuring that this website is accessible to all visitors, including people with disabilities. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
What we've done
We have designed this site with accessibility as a foundational requirement, not an afterthought. Specific measures include:
Color contrast. All body copy and interactive elements are checked against WCAG AA contrast ratios. Primary text uses deep teal (#0E3A4A) on a bright foam-white ground (#F6FBFD), a combination that comfortably exceeds the 4.5:1 ratio required for normal text. Our sand accent (#C8A368) is used sparingly on light grounds and meets AA for large text and UI components.
Reduced motion. All CSS animations and transitions — including the water-shimmer atmosphere and scroll-reveal effects — respect the user's prefers-reduced-motion: reduce media query. When reduced motion is requested, animations are disabled and content is shown immediately without movement.
Keyboard navigation. All interactive elements — links, form fields, and the submit button — are reachable and operable by keyboard alone. Focus states are visible (teal outline) and meet WCAG 2.1 AA requirements.
Form accessibility. Every input in the membership inquiry form carries an explicit aria-label so screen readers can identify each field unambiguously.
Video and animation. The background water footage in the hero is marked aria-hidden (purely decorative) and plays muted with no content conveyed through audio or motion alone. The video is not shown to users who request reduced motion; a static gradient fills that role instead.
Semantic HTML. Pages use landmark elements (<nav>, <main>, <footer>) and a logical heading hierarchy so assistive technologies can navigate efficiently.
Skip-to-content. A visually hidden skip link becomes visible on focus, allowing keyboard users to bypass repeated navigation.
Known limitations
We are a small team and conduct accessibility reviews manually rather than through an automated audit on every deployment. If you encounter a barrier we have not yet addressed, please tell us — we take every report seriously and aim to resolve issues within five business days.
Third-party content
This site loads fonts from Google Fonts (Prata and Jost). Google's accessibility practices are outside our direct control. We have no other third-party scripts or embeds on this site.
Feedback and contact
